Receivos reserves the right to amend or change this Policy at its sole discretion at any time. In the event of any material changes, we will notify you before the change becomes effective. This notification will be sent to the email address specified in your account or by means of a notice on this Site.

Conditions of Use

Your use of the Receivos website and other services is subject to this Privacy Policy and Receivos' Terms of Service, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of Delaware state law.

Scope of the Policy

This Policy details how Receivos (which includes Receivos and all its products and services) collects and uses the data generated when you (the 'User') interact with its website and services.

This Policy does not extend to or bind third parties that Receivos does not control.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information from our users:

  • Account Registration Data: This includes your first and last name, username, password, email address, phone number, and credit card information (which is not collected directly by us and instead securely processed by an independent third-party service).
  • User-Submitted Content: This encompasses any documents submitted and processed to Receivos by the user.
  • Personal Item Data: Information about personal items submitted in both text and picture formats.
  • Synced Email Receipts: For users who grant access through their applicable email provider, we collect email receipts via APIs or other integrations with such email providers. Any use of information we receive through those APIs and integrations will adhere to all requirements imposed by the email provider.
  • General User-Generated Content: Any other content created during the normal use of our Services, including, but not limited to, forum posts, profiles, comments, suggestions, feedback information, and forwarded messages.
  • Passive Information and Traffic Data: Automatically collected data, such as IP address and usage patterns.
  • Financial Data: Banking and financial information handled by a secure third-party payment network. All payment data is handled and stored by Stripe.
  • Location Data (Mobile App Users): For users utilizing the mileage tracker feature in the iOS or Android applications, the app collects location data to enable mileage tracking even when the application is closed. This data is exclusively used to provide the mileage tracking functionality for those users who choose to use this feature. We process such sensitive personal information only upon your explicit consent which you provide when you choose to upload such sensitive personal information to the website.

Your Information in Your Receivos Account

Receivos uses personal information (listed above) to: enforce Terms of Service, customize and improve its software and website, provide customer service, resolve disputes, troubleshoot, and provide updates and offers (with an opt-out option via email or help@receivos.com).

5.1 — Information Submission and Feedback

Registration, required for many services, involves submitting information like your email. Feedback is used to improve the software and website, and anonymous feedback data may be used for marketing. Receivos will not use identifiable feedback without permission.

5.2 — Email Receipt Sync

For users opting into Email Receipt Sync, Receivos may access synced emails only for work duties like email forwarding as part of your use of our services, dispute resolution, or customer service. Receivos does not directly access your email accounts or non-synced emails. Non-receipt emails are not stored or used.

5.3 — Traffic Data and Tracking Technologies

Traffic data (IP, cookies, pages, browser info, etc.) is gathered during service use. This data helps fix site issues and is combined with other collected information to improve services, analytics, and site functionality.

Receivos and partners use tracking technologies (cookies, beacons, tags, scripts, HTML5) to analyze trends, administer the site, track movement, and gather aggregated demographics. Users can control cookies, but rejecting them may limit some site features. HTML5 management varies by browser. Receivos may display page view counts. Anonymous website visits are possible but limit personalized experiences. Passive information is used only on an aggregated level for improvement or statistics.

5.4 — Sharing with Service Providers

Personal information may be provided to service providers (customer service and support) who are authorized to use it only to perform those services on behalf of Receivos. We have contracts in place with our third parties, which are designed to help safeguard your personal information. They also commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it for the period we instruct.

5.5 — Information Sharing with Third Parties

User information is critical to our services and is shared with third parties only in specific cases:

  • Receivos employees/contractors may access it during normal duties (services, dispute resolution, customer service) and are prohibited from using it for other purposes.
  • Required disclosure for lawful requests by public authorities (national security, law enforcement).
  • Required by law, Terms of Service, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Receivos or others.
  • Receivos will notify users before sharing personal information outside the above, and users can opt out.
  • Users will be notified via email or prominent website notice of any change in ownership (merger, acquisition, asset sale) or changes in personal information use, including choices regarding their data.
  • We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

Security of User Information

Your personal data on Receivos is protected by a username and password login. You are responsible for keeping your username and password secret, and should be careful to log out of your account after you have finished any given session, especially if you are using a public computer. When you enter sensitive information (such as your name, mailing address, or credit card information) on our registration forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

Only service providers that need to access personal information (such as customer service representatives) will have access to personal information. Receivos keeps all service providers informed and reminded of privacy and security practices.

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, while we strive for security, no transmission method over the internet or electronic storage is entirely without risk, so we cannot promise absolute security. We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residency, you may have certain rights related to your personal data, including:

  • Access and Data Portability. You may confirm whether we process your personal data and access a copy of the personal data we process. To the extent feasible and required by state law, data will be provided in a portable format. Depending on your state, you may have the right to receive additional information included in the response to your access request.
  • Correction. You may request that we correct inaccuracies in your personal data that we maintain, taking into account the information's nature and processing purpose.
  • Deletion. You may request that we delete personal data about you that we maintain, subject to certain exceptions under applicable law.
  • Opt Out of Using Personal Data for Targeted Advertising, Profiling, and Sales. You may request that we do not use your personal data for these purposes.
The exact scope of these rights varies by state. There are also several exceptions where we may not have an obligation to fulfill your request.

Some browsers and browser extensions support the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") that can send a signal to process your request to opt out from certain types of data processing, including data "sales" as defined under certain laws. When we detect such a signal, we will make reasonable efforts to respect your choices indicated by a GPC setting as required by applicable law.

Nevada provides its residents with a limited right to opt out of certain personal data sales. Residents who wish to exercise their sale opt-out rights may submit a request to help@receivos.com. However, please know we do not currently sell data triggering that statute's opt-out requirements.

California Residents

If you are a California resident, the CCPA grants you the following rights regarding your personal information:

Right to Know and Data Portability Requests

You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information (the "right to know"), including the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you (a "data portability request"). Our response will cover the 12-month period preceding the request. You may exercise your right to know twice in any 12-month period. Once we receive your request and confirm your identity, we will disclose to you:

  • The categories of:
    • personal information we collected about you; and
    • sources from which we collected your personal information.
  • The business or commercial purpose for collecting your personal information and, if applicable, selling or sharing your personal information.
  • If applicable, the categories of persons, including third parties, to whom we disclosed your personal information, including separate disclosures identifying the categories of your personal information that we:
    • disclosed for a business purpose to each category of persons; and
    • sold or shared to each category of third parties.
  • When your right to know submission includes a data portability request, a copy of your personal information, subject to any permitted redactions.

Right to Delete and Right to Correct

You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions and limitations (the "right to delete"). Once we receive your request and confirm your identity, we will delete your personal information from our systems unless an exception allows us to retain it. We will also notify our service providers to take appropriate action.

You also have the right to request correction of personal information we maintain about you that you believe is inaccurate (the "right to correct"). We may require you to provide documentation, if needed, to confirm your identity and support your claim that the information is inaccurate. Unless an exception applies, we will correct personal information that our review determines is inaccurate and notify our service providers to take appropriate action.

Right to Limit Sensitive Personal Information Use

You have a right to ask businesses that use or disclose your sensitive personal information to limit those actions to just the CCPA's Permitted SPI Purposes (the "right to limit"). Once we receive your valid request, we will limit the use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information to the Permitted SPI Purposes.

Personal Information Sales or Sharing Opt-Out and Opt-In Rights

You have the right to request that businesses stop selling or sharing your personal information at any time (the "right to opt-out"), including through a user-enabled opt-out preference signal. Similarly, the CCPA prohibits businesses from selling or sharing the personal information of consumers it actually knows are under 16 years old without first obtaining consent from consumers who are between 13 and 15 years old or the consumer's parent or guardian for consumers under age 13 (the "right to opt-in").

We cannot share your personal information after we receive your request to opt-out unless you later consent to the sharing of your personal information.

User Privacy Access

Receivos will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal details upon request. You always have the choice not to disclose certain personal information, but this may prevent you from accessing specific services. For example, your name and email address are required to complete the registration process. After registering, you can stop receiving non-service related messages by clicking "manage your subscription" at the bottom of these emails or by contacting us at help@receivos.com. We will respond to your request promptly.

Communication and Service Updates

You will automatically receive a welcome email necessary to finalize your registration. Occasionally, you may also receive service-related announcements, such as an alert if our service is temporarily suspended. If you do not wish to receive these announcements, you have the option to deactivate your account. You can request that your Receivos account be deleted or deactivated by sending an email to help@receivos.com.

Managing Your Account Information

You have the ability to add, delete, or update personal information, as permitted. However, please note that Receivos may retain a copy of the original, unrevised information, subject to any right to delete provided by applicable law.

  • You can manage your personal information by clicking on "Profile" after logging in. Contact us at help@receivos.com with any questions.
  • If you use "refer a friend", we will ask for your friend's email address. We will automatically send your friend a single email invitation to visit the site. Your friend may contact us at help@receivos.com to ask that this information be removed from our database.
  • You can unsubscribe from non-service related Receivos messages or newsletters by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emailed newsletters.

Testimonials and Publication

Receivos will not post any user information alongside testimonials unless we have received explicit permission from the user. We contact users to confirm and be aware of their personal information being posted on our public site before publication. A user may submit or revoke a testimonial by contacting us at help@receivos.com.

Blog and Community Forums

Be aware that when you post personal information on our blog or community forums, users may read, collect, or use this content. Receivos is not responsible for the information you choose to submit in these public forums.

13.1 — Requesting Removal of Personal Information

To have your personal information removed from our blog or community forum, please send a request to help@receivos.com. Should we be unable to fulfill your request, we will inform you and provide a detailed explanation.

Any information posted using a third-party application must be removed by either:

  • Logging into that application and deleting the content.
  • Contacting the appropriate third-party application provider.

We use a third-party advertising network to display ads on our website and manage our advertising on other sites. This partner utilizes cookies, tags, and pixels to gather non-personally identifiable information regarding your activity on this and other websites.

Receivos uses this data to deliver targeted advertising based on your interests. If you prefer not to have this information used for targeted advertising, you can contact us at help@receivos.com.

For users in the European Union, an opt-out option is available. Be advised that choosing to opt out will only stop targeted advertising; you will still be shown general advertisements. Contact us at help@receivos.com.

Account Deletion

We keep your information for the duration that your account is active, or for as long as it is required to provide you with our services. To cancel your account or request that we stop using your information to provide you services, delete the account when in the service or email us at help@receivos.com. We may continue to retain and use your information as necessary to meet our legal obligations, resolve any disputes, enforce our agreements, and keep receipt information for enablement to our partners; excluding personal information.

Once you delete your account, you will not be able to access the service or its contents. We are not responsible for restoring deleted accounts or any content that is unreachable to the user due to this action.

Data Retention from Account

Be aware that your data (on an aggregate and anonymized basis) will remain in our backup files for as long as three years. However, we keep receipt information for enablement to our partners; excluding personal information. No one outside of Receivos can access these backup files.

After you delete your account, if you ask us to delete all your information in your account by emailing help@receivos.com, we will remove your user information from our systems within six months.

Third Party Website Links

Our website may include links to external websites operated by third parties. Please be aware that these third parties have their own distinct privacy practices, which are separate from Receivos's. If you choose to share personal information with any of these external sites, that information will be governed by their respective Privacy Policies. Receivos does not take responsibility for the practices of these third parties. We strongly recommend that you read the privacy policy of every website you access.

Widgets for Web or Social Media

Social Media Features may be incorporated into our website. These Features, which could be hosted by us or a third party, may record your IP address and the page you are viewing. They might also set a cookie to guarantee their proper operation. Your interactions with these Social Media Features and Widgets are subject to the privacy policy of the third-party company hosting them.

Single Sign-on

You have the option to access our site by logging in through various sign-in services, including Facebook Connect or an Open ID provider.
